Rice Cooker Spanish Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cups basmati rice uncooked
  • 1 cup canned diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoons butter (or margarine)
  • ¼ cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¾ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Rinse the rice in a strainer to remove the extra starch. Drain well.
  • In a medium/large rice cooker, add all ingredients and stir together to combine. Turn rice cooker on.
  • When rice is cooked, turn off rice cooker and fluff the rice with a fork. Cover and let rice cool down for 10 minutes.
