Cuban Pulled Pork Sliders – Traditional ingredients of a Cuban sandwich are placed between dinner rolls to make perfectly-sized sliders.

As January comes to an end, I have one final savory snack that you can serve for your football parties coming up – my Cuban Pulled Pork Slider. It’s an incredible slider that I became obsessed with, mostly because of the flavor combo of the smoky meats, tangy sauce, and snappy pickles just rocked my world.

With all that going on, you don’t even notice that there’s no cheese, which is completely by design. Why add in an ingredient just because you think you should? The bold mayo-Dijon sauce in this slider takes it beyond anything you’ve had before so I promise you won’t miss the cheese.

Let’s take a look at these sliders, shall we?

Using Leftover Pork

Cuban sandwiches are traditionally made with two types of pork: cooked ham and roasted pork. For these sliders, we use leftover pulled pork instead of roasted pork since it has a smokier flavor and is easier to find. Since I didn’t have leftover pulled pork on hand, I just bought some from the deli department of my grocery store. You can also get some from a local barbeque joint.

Assembling the sliders

These sliders will be baked to get them warmed through and nice and toasty on top. Therefore, they are assembled right in the baking dish. First, the bottom buns are spread with a mayo-Dijon and then topped with the pulled pork. Next, the sliced ham is layered on top, followed by sliced pickles.

Finally, the rest of the mayo-Dijon sauce is spooned over the sliders before topping with the top bun.

Baking the sliders

The sliders only need about 15 minutes in a preheated oven to get perfectly heated through and toasted on top. Once they’re done, they are ready for serving!

Tips & Tricks

  1. You don’t have to make the pulled pork yourself – I bought some from the deli section at the grocery store. Just make sure you get the SAUCELESS kind.
  2. Don’t skimp on the mayo-Dijon sauce. It has so much flavor and adds moisture to the slider that you need, especially since there is no cheese.
  3. These sliders can easily be made ahead of time. Simply assemble them, cover, and store until time to serve. At that time, you just place them in a preheat oven to bake for about 15 minutes.

Cuban Pulled Pork Sliders

Prep Time15 minutes mins
Cook Time15 minutes mins
Servings: 12 sliders

Ingredients

  • 12 dinner rolls or slider buns
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 12 ounces pulled pork
  • 8 ounces sliced cooked ham
  • 24 dill pickle slices

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice dinner rolls in half horizontally. Place bottom halves into the bottom of a 13×9 baking dish. Mix mustard and mayo together until combined. Spread bottom halves with a thin layer of the mixture.
  • Top bottom halves with even amounts of pulled pork. Then, top with even amounts of sliced ham. Next, add two pickles to each bun. Finish off by spooning rest of mayo-mustard over the top of the sliders. Place top buns on sliders.
  • Bake sliders in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until buns are toasted and pork is warmed through.

Sour Cream Doughnuts – dense and crispy on the o Sour Cream Doughnuts – dense and crispy on the outside, moist and cakey on the inside! Your favorite old-fashioned cake doughnuts ready in half the time as yeast doughnuts!

These are also known as old-fashioned doughnuts, you guys! They're bulky, firm on the outside, but oh-so-moist on the inside! The BEST combination of textures – crunchy yet chewy, dense yet moist!

I fell in love with these at a local bakery, and now my husband surprises me with them from time to time! Do I have a great man or what?!

Pro tip: Don't roll the dough too thin or the doughnuts will turn to hockey pucks when you fry them! You're better off making the dough too thick than too thin!

Perfect for weekend breakfast, Easter morning, brunch, or anytime you want homemade doughnuts without the wait!

Creamy Poblano Enchiladas – tortillas stuffed wi Creamy Poblano Enchiladas – tortillas stuffed with shredded chicken, covered in a creamy poblano sauce and cheese, then baked until creamy perfection!

I'm more of a green enchiladas fan than red, you guys! While this sauce isn't traditional green enchilada sauce, it's got similar flavor notes! Plus, with the added milk, it's super creamy and decadent!

The secret? A roux makes the sauce ultra creamy without needing tons of heavy cream!

Pro tip: Don't skip the lime juice! It's KEY to balancing out the flavors – this is NOT an optional ingredient!

Perfect for Cinco de Mayo, dinner parties, family dinners, or anytime you want creamy enchiladas! 🎉

These are perfect for Cinco de Mayo, you guys! Small party-perfect size (makes about 20!) with super flavorful filling that's NOT spicy – everyone will love them! 😍

Made with my classic pie dough for the flakiest crust, then filled with seasoned beef, onions, and tomatoes!

Pro tip: Make sure to chill the dough before rolling it out – this lets it rest and firm up so it gets nice and flaky while baking!

Apple Pie Sundae – cinnamon crumble ice cream to Apple Pie Sundae – cinnamon crumble ice cream topped with caramelized cinnamon apples, pie crust chips, and caramel sauce to make a fun way to eat your favorite pie!

You guys, this is apple pie DECONSTRUCTED! All the flavors you love but in sundae form!

I was inspired by a restaurant dessert but knew I could take it up a few notches! I added crispy pie crust chips and caramel sauce (because apples + caramel = perfection!), and the result is INCREDIBLE!

Pro tip: Use a cast-iron skillet to caramelize the apples – it gives them better color and flavor than a non-stick pan! And cook them just 8-10 minutes so they still have bite and aren't mushy!

Perfect for National Ice Cream Month, summer treats, fall desserts, or anytime you want apple pie without baking a whole pie! 🥧

This is THE pie to make if you're trying to switch up your holiday traditions, you guys! Sometimes you need a break from pumpkin pie and pecan pie!

The genius secret? Unflavored gelatin in the whipped cream makes it stable so it won't wilt or melt – you can make this ahead!

Pro tip: Add the hot milk to the eggs VERY slowly or the eggs will scramble and the pudding will get lumpy!
