Aussie Sausage Rolls – A mixture of sausage, diced onions, and spices are rolled in puff pastry and baked to perfection. The perfect appetizer for any event!

Tray Of Aussie Sausage RollsI’ve been getting requests from every which way, especially from people at work. This week’s request was for a pastry with meat in it…? I’ve never made such a thing but it’s not that uncommon, actually: minced meat pie, pigs in a blanket, Jamaican meat patties, etc. So I asked him for suggestions and he recommend an Australian favorite: Aussie Sausage Rolls.

The recipe was really, really simple – only about three steps. They took less than an hour to make, start to finish. And they came out looking quite tasty, too.

I wasn’t so sure how these would taste but they weren’t bad! I’m not a huge sausage fan but there wasn’t denying the flavor that these little bites were packin’. The buttery, flaky pastry complimented the spicy sausage quite well.

In case you were wondering, they were very well received by all the men in the office, that’s for sure. I would recommend them as an hor d’oeuvre for any party, as it would satisfy any dinner party guest or tailgater.

A mixture of sausage, diced onions, and spices are rolled in puff pastry and baked to perfection. The perfect appetizer for any event!
Prep Time15 minutes mins
Cook Time25 minutes mins
Total Time45 minutes mins
Servings: 36 rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 medium white onion diced
  • 2 teaspoons chives minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 package frozen puff pastry dough two sheets, thawed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare two large baking sheets by lining with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sausage, onion, chives, basil, garlic, 3/4 teaspoon paprika, salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Unfold one pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Roll each pastry sheet into an 11-in. x 10-1/2-in. rectangle. Cut widthwise into 3-1/2-in. strips. Spread 1/2 cup of sausage mixture down the center of each strip. Fold pastry over and press edges together to seal. Cut each roll into six pieces. Repeat with second sheet of dough.
  • Place seam side down on a rack in prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with remaining paprika. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 3 dozen.

Looks so yummy, Sharon! It kind of reminds me of pastelitos de carne which are ground beef in a flaky pastry crust and some sort of sweet glaze on top. I'm sure you've heard of the. 🙂

There’s something about the first cool morning o There’s something about the first cool morning of fall that just feels different. 🍂

You step outside, the air is crisp, the leaves have that faint earthy smell… and suddenly all you want is pumpkin spice, warm muffins, and cozy socks.

Mini Pumpkin Doughnut Muffins - They’re soft, cakey, perfectly spiced, and coated in buttery cinnamon sugar. It’s like a pumpkin doughnut met a muffin and decided to make your morning ten times better.

There’s something about digging into a bowl of s There’s something about digging into a bowl of soup that reminds you of cozy evenings. The soft glow of the kitchen light, the aroma of buttery potatoes, cheese melting, and bacon crisping.

This loaded potato soup is all of that and more: tender chunks of potato, a rich creamy base, sharp cheddar, smoky bacon, green onions popping with flavor. It’s hearty comfort food at its finest.

It started on a night when I needed something substantial, something that felt like a hug in a bowl, and this soup answered the call.

Would you rather serve yours with an extra drizzle of melted cheese on top or let it sit so the flavors mingle?

There’s something about the moment you press pea There’s something about the moment you press peanut butter into soft chocolate dough. It’s like two flavors finally realizing they belong together.

I first experimented with chocolate + peanut butter cookies late one winter evening, trying to recreate that bakery magic I remembered from childhood.

When the first batch came out warm, chewy, with that melt-in-your-mouth peanut butter swirl… I knew I had a new favorite.

These Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies are rich, indulgent, and downright comforting, perfect with a glass of milk or a cu#bakedtreats

Some of the best meals come from desperation—and Some of the best meals come from desperation—and this Chili Mac & Cheese was born on one of those nights. I had leftover chili and boxes of pasta, and I thought “why not combine them?”

What came out was something magical: creamy cheese sauce folding into hearty chili, elbow macaroni soaking up every bit of flavor, topped with melty cheese and baked to a golden crust. It’s comfort food squared.

This is my go-to when I want something filling, nostalgic, and totally satisfying.

There’s just something about warm, soft pretzels There’s just something about warm, soft pretzels that feels like pure comfort, especially when there’s beer cheese involved.

I still remember the first time I made homemade pretzel bites. The smell that filled my kitchen was unreal, buttery, toasty, and a little sweet. Then came the beer cheese dip… creamy, tangy, with just the right amount of sharp cheddar bite.

It instantly took me back to lazy weekend afternoons spent at my favorite pub, where every appetizer came with a story and a side of laughter.

If you’ve never made pretzel bites at home before, don’t worry, they’re easier than you think, and the results are so worth it.

Warm, golden bites + rich beer cheese = the snack you’ll want on repeat all fall long. 🍂
