Cranberry Orange Aperol Spritz – Cranberry and orange juice are mixed with Aperol liquor, Prosecco, and a splash of sparkling water to make for a refreshing winter cocktail.

Glasses of Cranberry Orange Aperol Spritz

Historically, warm cocktails take over come winter time: hot toddys, mulled wine, boozy hot chocolates, etc. But just because it’s cold, it doesn’t mean that my love of refreshing drinks goes out the window. I love a great festive sangria or Moscow mule this time of year.

For my newest festive creation, I decided to celebrate a refreshing drink that has been taking over cocktail menus all year long – the aperol spritz. I recognize this drink has been around for years, but it’s only hit my radar this past year.

The aperol spritz is a refreshing Italian drink, typically served as an aperitif (a drink served before a meal). It tends to be most popular during the summer months. But with the addition of cranberry and orange (and a festive sprig of rosemary!), I’ve made this drink just the cocktail you need for winter.

And so, I present to you my Cranberry Orange Aperol Spritz!

Cranberry Orange Aperol Spritz with cranberries and an orange slice in the glass Two glasses of Cranberry Orange Aperol Spritz

What is in this cocktail?

A traditional aperol spritz is made with Aperol liquor, Prosecco, and a splash of sparkling water. It’s served over ice and with a slice of orange. It’s dry, yet refreshing and oh so delicious.

Aperol has a citrus flavor, similar to grapefruit, with a hint of orange. For this version of the aperol spritz, I added in cranberry juice cocktail because cranberry and orange pair so perfectly. I also used a sprig of rosemary and fresh cranberries for garnish to make it even more festive. measuring cup full of cranberries

How is it made?

This cocktail is incredibly easy to make – it takes mere minutes to put it together. First, you mix equal parts cranberry juice and Aperol liquor. Then, you top with 3 ounces of Prosecco, a squeeze of an orange wedge, and a splash of sparkling water. That’s it, folks!

I like to serve this drink in a large wine glass but you can use any 16-ounce glass.

Tips & Tricks

  1. You cannot make the entire drink ahead of time because the fizz in the Prosecco and sparkling water will lessen over time. However, you can mix the juices with the aperol and simply top with champagne and sparkling water when it’s time to serve.
  2. Cranberry juice cocktail is not 100% cranberry juice. It is sweetened to balance out the tart flavor of the cranberry. Make sure you use cranberry juice cocktail in this drink to ensure the drink is the right amount of sweet.

The drink looks so nice for the holidays. Is there measurements to make by the pitcher? I know it can’t be made way ahead of time but would help to have that if you have it.

Early Tuesday mornings deserve something a little Early Tuesday mornings deserve something a little decadent. Enter my Bananas Foster French Toast Casserole, buttery bread soaked in custard, layered with bananas, drenched in a brown sugar + rum sauce, baked until golden, and finished with a brûlée-style sugar crust.

I first had Bananas Foster at a restaurant in New Orleans and fell in love. Years later, I wanted that same feeling of warmth, sweetness, and drama — so I turned it into a brunch-friendly casserole.

This dish is the perfect blend of comfort and indulgence, especially when brunch calls for something that feels special without the fuss.

Let’s talk about that moment when sweet meets sa Let’s talk about that moment when sweet meets savory and your pie crust surprises you.

This Cheddar-Crusted Apple Pie is what happens when a classic apple pie gets a cheddar cheese upgrade.

A flaky pie crust with sharp cheddar folded in, filled with cinnamon-spiced apples, and baked until bubbly. Every forkful is a little sweet, a little salty, a lot of comfort.

I first had a version of this at a small bakery in New England, and it stuck with me. I knew I had to bring that cheddar crispiness into my own kitchen. The key is cold cheese-shredded butter in the crust and not overcooking the apples.

Imagine a doughnut that’s part chocolate cake, p Imagine a doughnut that’s part chocolate cake, part Irish cream dream. That’s exactly what these Irish Cream Chocolate Doughnuts are.

These are baked (not fried) cake doughnuts infused with cocoa and topped with a silky Irish cream glaze, dense, rich, and made for dunking in your coffee.

When I first tested this, I was stunned by how that Irish cream glaze transformed a simple doughnut into something elegant yet comforting. The trick is letting the doughnuts cool fully before glazing, and double-dipping for that ultra-thick coating.

There’s a special joy in starting the day with s There’s a special joy in starting the day with something simple yet seasonal, like a warm English muffin slathered with whipped butter tinged with fall flavors.

These English Muffins with Whipped Fall Butters are my cozy breakfast dream: freshly toasted English muffins topped with light, whipped butter blends (think pumpkin spice butter, cinnamon pear butter, maple butter) that melt into every crevice.

I developed these spreads to bring a taste of autumn to a morning ritual that’s been with me since childhood. The contrast, crunchy muffin edges, soft middle, and whipped autumn flavors, is everything.

👉 If you were making these, would you go for pumpkin spice butter or maple cinnamon butter first?

There’s magic in a skillet sometimes, like when There’s magic in a skillet sometimes, like when simple ingredients come together and you forget how easy it was.

This easy chicken pasta with white wine sauce is exactly that moment. Tender chicken strips, garlic, a splash of white wine, a touch of cream (or broth), and a pasta that soaks up every drop of sauce. All in about 30 minutes.

I developed this recipe when I needed a quick dinner that felt refined yet practical. The wine gives it depth without being fussy; the chicken + pasta keep it comforting.

If you were making it tonight, would you pair it with a green salad or garlic bread?
