Peach Cobbler Ice Cream – Cinnamon peach ice cream is loaded with pie crust pieces and swirled together.

Cinnamon peach ice cream is loaded with pie crust pieces and swirled together.

It’s peach season, people! And from what I’ve read, peaches are supposedly super juicy and delicious this year from all the rain we had in Georgia. From the batches I’ve gotten so far, I can’t say I disagree!

Peaches are great for making lemonade, adding to a salad, or even topping crostini. But my favorite has to be in dessert. I’ve shared this peach sundae recipe and this cobbler recipe with you guys before, but now I’ve got a mixture of both of those recipes to share with you today.

For today’s ice cream recipe, I’ve got one you’re going to want to make ASAP. It’s for my Peach Cobbler Ice Cream. It’s a creamy peach ice cream base with a hint of cinnamon and pie crust pieces mixed throughout. Yum yum yum. The peaches are even cooked a little to bring out their sweetness just as they are in a cobbler.

Without further ado, let’s admire this gorgeous ice cream, shall we?

How to make peach cobbler ice cream

This ice cream is one of the easiest ones you’ll make. There is no custard base to cook so that saves you a bunch of time. The main steps of this ice cream go like this:

  1. Cook peaches
  2. Blend peaches with other ingredients
  3. Make pie crust pieces
  4. Freeze mixture in ice cream machine
  5. Layer ice cream and pie pieces together and freeze

Cooking the peaches really brings out their flavor. Plus, you get that roasted sweetness that you find in a peach cobbler. I added in a little cinnamon to enhance those flavors, as well.

Once the peaches are cooked, they’re just blended with the rest of the ingredients and then chilled before freezing in the ice cream machine

Pie crust pieces

The pie crust pieces are the ingredient in this ice cream that takes it from a peach ice cream to a peach cobbler ice cream. Well, that and the cinnamon. But don’t worry – you don’t need to make pie dough from scratch to make them.

A great shortcut for making pie pieces is to use storebought refrigerated pie dough. All you do is roll is out, brush with egg wash, and then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. The dough is then cut into squares and baked until golden brown.

Layering the ice cream

Once the two components of the ice cream are made, it’s time to layer them together to make the peach cobbler ice cream. We do this instead of mixing them together so that we don’t handle the ice cream too much and cause it to melt.

Once layered together, cover with plastic wrap and freeze until solid.

Tips & Tricks

  1. No need to peel the peaches, unless you really want to. Since the peaches will be blended, that firm skin will be chopped up into smaller pieces and you’ll never know they’re there. Also, the red color of the skin will add a pretty color to the ice cream.
  2. You must use heavy cream for this recipe to ensure the ice cream is creamy. Do not substitute with half and half or milk.
  3. Before adding the ice cream base to an ice cream machine, it has to be cold or else it will take forever to freeze and cause ice crystals to form during the prolonged process, which will not produce a super creamy ice cream. Make sure to chill for at least 4 hours before adding to the ice cream machine.

Peach Cobbler Ice Cream

Prep Time20 minutes mins
Cook Time30 minutes mins
Total Time50 minutes mins
Servings: 1 quart

Ingredients

For the cinnamon peach ice cream:
  • 1½ pounds peaches
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the pie crust pieces:
  • 1 disk refrigerated pie dough
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

For the cinnamon peach ice cream:
  • Pit and slice the peaches into large chunks. Place into a large saucepan with the water. Stir together and place over medium heat. Cover and simmer until fruit is soft, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add sugar. Stir together and let sit until room temperature.
  • Add cooked peach to a pitcher of a blender, along with sour cream, heavy cream, vanilla, and ground cinnamon. Cover and blend until almost smooth but has a few chunks left. Place blender pitcher into fridge to cool it down completely, about 4 hours. In the meantime, make the piece crust pieces.
  • Freeze the ice cream according to ice cream machine instructions. Layer in a storage container with crushed pie crust pieces and cover with plastic wrap. Freeze until solid, about 8 hours.
For the pie crust pieces:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lay a piece of parchment paper onto a large baking sheet. Roll out the pie dough so it's flat. Whisk egg and water together to make an egg wash. Brush lightly over the pie dough. Discard excess wash.
  • In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar together. Sprinkle over the pie dough in one even layer. Discard excess sugar. Slice dough into strips and then into small squares. Separate the squares so they are not touching.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the underside begins to turn golden. Remove from oven and break squares into smaller pieces. Measure 1 ½ cups of pie pieces and discard the rest. Use measured pieces in the layering of the cinnamon peach ice cream described above.

Peach cobbler ice cream sounds like such a fun mix of textures. I like desserts where the fruit, crumble, and creamy parts are easy to notice right away, because quick visual recognition is what makes simple food-themed browser games enjoyable too.

Love the sound of this – and I don’t even like peaches that much! But I think it’s the whole combination of peaches-crust-ice cream that gave me cravings…

Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Honey Mustard Vinaig Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Honey Mustard Vinaigrette – crispy roasted Brussels sprouts tossed in a tangy, sweet honey mustard vinaigrette!

If you had told me 5 years ago that I'd be posting a brussels sprouts recipe on this blog, I wouldn't have believed you, you guys! All I knew about them was that they were a stinky vegetable nobody liked!

Then all of a sudden, brussels sprouts were on EVERY menu at EVERY restaurant I visited! I was shocked! So when my girlfriends ordered a large side to share at dinner, I decided to try them – and I was CONVERTED! 😍

They were roasted until crispy, coated in a honey mustard vinaigrette that was tangy, crispy, and sweet! Now I'm sharing MY version so you can convert brussels sprout haters too!

Pro tip: Toss the brussels sprouts in the vinaigrette while they're still hot so they absorb all those amazing flavors!

Perfect for holiday dinners, dinner parties or anytime you need a delicious side dish!

Cheeseburger Egg Rolls – ground beef seasoned wi Cheeseburger Egg Rolls – ground beef seasoned with mustard and Worcestershire, stuffed with American cheese and pickles, all wrapped in a crispy wonton wrapper! Served with a tangy burger sauce for dipping!

Frying foods is not always my favorite thing to do, you guys! But when I decide to, it's gotta be worth it! And these cheeseburger egg rolls are TOTALLY worth it! You just can't get the same crisp on the wonton wrapper in the oven or air fryer!

The filling is just like a classic cheeseburger – ground beef, American cheese, a pickle, and just a hint of mustard! And the burger sauce with ketchup, mustard, and relish rounds out those classic burger flavors!

Pro tip: Drain the beef extremely well! Any excess oil will put holes in the wonton wrapper while it's frying!

Perfect for appetizers, game day, parties, tailgating, or anytime you want cheeseburger flavor in a crispy, fun package! 🍟

Coconut Tres Leches – a tropical twist on the cl Coconut Tres Leches – a tropical twist on the classic! Spongy cake soaked in three milks (including coconut cream instead of heavy cream!) and topped with whipped cream and toasted coconut!

Despite my Hispanic heritage, tres leches is something I only started loving in my 20s, you guys! And when I did? I was almost ANGRY I had waited so long to try it!

I love taking classic recipes and giving them unique twists! For this one, I replaced the heavy cream with coconut cream and topped it with toasted coconut – because I LOVE coconut cream cake! The result? The best of both worlds – all the tres leches flavor with all the coconut goodness!

Pro tip: Make this cake a day in advance and let it sit overnight! Tres leches gets BETTER over time, and it makes a world of difference!

One of the best desserts I've made in a while – seriously, your mind will be blown with every bite!

Italian Herb Wings with Gorgonzola Dipping Sauce – crispy baked wings tossed in garlic, Parmesan, and Italian herbs, served with a creamy Gorgonzola dipping sauce! 🍗

I've been obsessed with wings ever since high school when we'd have 25-cent wing nights at our local pub, you guys! These are a little bit of a step up from those days!

Instead of my usual teriyaki wings, these are dry wings (not tossed in sauce) coated in the trifecta of flavor – Italian herbs, garlic, and Parmesan! And the best part? They're BAKED, not fried! You can put away that gallon of vegetable oil!

Pro tip: Dry the wings extremely well before coating – excess moisture keeps them from browning! And don't flip them during baking – the longer they're untouched, the deeper the skin will brown!

Perfect for football Sundays, tailgating parties, game day snacks, or anytime you want incredible wings without the fuss!

Peach Raspberry Cobbler – fresh peaches and rasp Peach Raspberry Cobbler – fresh peaches and raspberries topped with a cakey, cinnamon-sugar crust that's so incredible you won't even need ice cream!

Cobblers have stolen my heart, you guys! The first cobbler I ever loved was blackberry, but after tasting this peach raspberry version at a work potluck, it took the top spot!

The secret? That cinnamon sugar crust! It's not just a topping – it's the STAR of the show! The combination of fresh peaches, tart raspberries, and that cakey, cinnamon-sugar-coated crust is pure summer magic!

Pro tip: Let the cobbler cool for at least 15 minutes before serving so the filling can thicken up and it'll be much easier to scoop!

Perfect for summer gatherings, July 4th parties, potlucks, or anytime you want a Southern dessert with a delicious twist!
